High Star Ranch has wonderful trails right out the back door of every home site. There are endless hiking opportunities in and around the ranch with beauty spots around every corner. You can explore safe, scenic trails with friends and family of both the two legged and four legged variety for hours on end. A lovely picnic spot on "The Knoll" reveals panoramic views of Timpanogos Mountains that can be reached in about 30 minutes. For the more vigorous hiker, a jeep trail climbs 2400 ft from the valley floor into aspens and pines and leads to a camp spot with a lodge pole coral and a picnic table at the boundary of the property. From this elevation at 8400 ft, views of the Ski Mountains to the west are nothing short of spectacular.

Or you may prefer a peaceful stroll along the canal, just above the valley floor, watching livestock graze in the lush green pastures, spotting swallows, ducks and herons, taking in a glorious sunset, enjoying conversation with a loved one, or simply escaping the humdrum of life by walking alone in tranquility. Trails weave throughout the property past horses in the barns and pastures, beside lakes, streams and through groves of trees, offering a diverse haven for walkers and hikers of all types.

Bordering the ranch is the 2.2 million acre Uinta National Forest, so High Star can offer incredible hiking and mountaineering opportunities close by, whether you wish to explore an alpine meadow or climb one of the many peaks in the area.
