Kamas City just one mile away from High Star has several small shops providing a little bit of everything.  The New West Country Store is a must for Western enthusiasts and visitors alike.

It was originally the local cultural hall dating back to the 1920’s and is a landmark in Kamas. The exterior walls are painted with murals of western scenes and the interior has original hardwood floors and an interior balcony, which provides a nostalgic peek into the past. Goods include western clothing, belt buckles, boots, saddles and horse supplies.  Further down Main street there is a wood sculpture store, a beauty parlor and a flower shop, and the confectionary store inside Hi-Mountain Drug has all kinds of items from magazines, books and gifts to knitting and embroidery supplies. The recently expanded Kamas Food Town grocery store and has fresh produce, camping supplies a delicatessen counter, and just about anything else you could need.
