High Star Ranch
Decisions…
Decisions…
Decisions.

The only way someone can be bored here is if they truly want to be. We confess we love horses, in fact we’re borderline obsessed with them, but every now and then we like to do other things too, like ski, hike, bike, fly-fish, go shopping and out for dinner and a movie.  So it’s good to know that in this rural ranch setting, how much fun stuff is available, and so close by.

When guests come to High Star who may not be quite as enthusiastic about horses as we are, it’s a treat to be able to provide them with a tantalizing list of pleasurable alternatives. Maybe they would like to ride a trusty horse on a guided ride for an hour or two to see views of the valley and mountains surrounding the ranch, but then they can go off to enjoy everything this diverse region has to offer.

Right here at High Star are miles of trails for hiking, biking and riding, and there is fly-fishing on the lake.
The small town of Kamas has several restaurants and a good pharmacy and grocery store to supply all your needs. In the winter months there is snow-shoeing, cross country skiing and snowmobiling, and just twenty minutes away is the picturesque, vibrant resort town of Park City, which was home to the 2002 Winter Olympics.

So the decision is yours: To hop on a mountain bike from the top of one of the Ski Mountains and descend the winding trails back down to town. Or try fly-fishing for trout on the Provo or Weber rivers only minutes away. Gather up your golf clubs and head for on of the many excellent courses in the area. Take a drive up the spectacular Mirror Lake Highway, park at a trailhead and explore one of the many wilderness trails.

Or simply savor the tranquility of day at home on the ranch, watching from the deck as horses graze peacefully in the pasture with a glorious sun setting over the mountains.
