Decisions... Decisions.. Decisions.
The only way someone can be bored at High Star Ranch is if they truly want to be. We confess we love horses, but every now and then we like to do other things too, like ski, hike, bike, fly-fish, golf, go shopping or out for dinner and a movie. So it’s good to know that in this rural ranch setting, many choices are available and close by.
When guests come to High Star, who may not be quite as enthusiastic about horses as we are, it’s a treat to be able to provide them with a tantalizing list of pleasurable alternatives. Right here at High Star are miles of trails for hiking, biking, riding and exploring. The small town of Kamas is nearby and has several restaurants and a good pharmacy and grocery store to supply all your needs.
In the winter months there is snow-shoeing, cross country skiing and snowmobiling, and just twenty minutes away is the picturesque, vibrant resort town of Park City, which was home to the 2002 Winter Olympics and its three world-class ski resorts: Park City Mountain Resort, Canyons Ski Resort and Deer Valley, which has been named the best North American ski resort by Ski Magazine multiple times.
So the decision is yours: Ski or snowboard at a top flight ski resort in the winter or hop on a mountain bike from the top of one of the ski areas in the summer and descend the winding trails back down to town. Try fly-fishing for trout just minutes away on the blue-ribbon Provo or Weber rivers. Gather up your golf clubs and head for one of the many excellent courses in the area. Take a drive up the spectacular Mirror Lake Highway, park at a trailhead and explore one of the many wilderness trails.
Or simply savor the tranquility of day at home on the ranch, watching from your deck as horses graze peacefully in the pasture and a glorious sun sets over the Wasatch Mountains.
